Course Outline

Introduction to the principles and characteristics of Web Design. Web design is a kind of graphic design intended for development and styling of objects of the Internet's information environment to provide them with high-end consumer features and aesthetic qualities. The offered definition separates web design from web programming, emphasizing the functional features of a web site. The intent of Web Design is to create a web site—a collection of electronic files that reside on a web server and present content and interactive interfaces to the end user in form of Web pages once requested.

Learning outcome/Competences

The students will learn how to use Cascading Style sheets (CSS) and Templates in Web Design processes, how to use colours and typography and how to handle browser compatibilities. They will get a basic understanding about the concepts of information architecture, usability and appearance.
