Course outline

In this course students learn how to generate interactive media concepts. In the lectures they will comprehend examples of arduino environments and abstract examples of other IPO-media (Input - Processing - Output) in order to create useful topics under the theme "LIFESTYLE". The practical part will prepare the students to be able to realize the concept to an actual media outcome. Especially the field of sensors (input), arduino-code (processing), and actors (output) will be dealt with.

Objectives & Structure

The course is divided into lectures (theoretical concept part) and practical (tutorials, examples and arduino coding). In the first half of semester (until Midterm) the conceptual part consists of Midterm assignment, which is to create an interactive media concept under the theme "LIFESTYLE". So a topic and an useful idea has to be created. After the midterm students are free to continue this topic and realize it within the practical part, or they can change the topic and create another arduino-compatible concept for the practical (and final assignment).
